"Stretch. Get stretched. Stretch others." That's my motto when it comes to Resistance Flexibility.
How did I get so lucky? The circumstances that led me to meet Bob and begin my Resistance Flexibility practice were out of the ordinary. It was in the Phoenix airport on Christmas Eve of 2002 where I had a random conversation with a stranger who had been studying this technique. This may sound corny, but my life immediately changed at that moment. It wasn't the intriguing philosophy behind the 16 Genetic Personality Types or the new ideas about flexibility that moved me the most. It was simply a moment in time where life was telling me, "Listen up. This is something you need to know about." I haven't had very many moments in my life like that, so I take heed when the opportunity presents itself.
Since then it's been all about "Stretch. Get Stretched. Stretch others."
Stretch - First, my body demanded that I stretch. After I began training, I remember waking up in the middle of the night, kicking my leg down into the mattress. Apparently I was trying to stretch my hamstrings.. while sleeping! Another night I again woke up and found myself in another stretch position, pushing my legs down into the mattress for resistance. In other words, my body was telling me, "we are doing this."
Get Stretched - Then, my body demanded that I get assisted. So I had to train my friends how to stretch me since there was no else around who knew anything about Resistance Flexibility.
Stretch Others - Naturally, my friends also wanted to get stretched and the job was on my plate since I was the only person they knew who practiced this new way to stretch.
It started off as a passion and personal practice and then bridged into my professional life as well. It's been quite a journey of personal growth and development for myself and the others that I've worked with. Over the years, I've worked with many people from many different backgrounds: professional artists and performers, Olympic and professional athletes, business executives, severely injured/ill individuals, people with desire to develop psychologically, emotionally or spiritually, and of course people just looking to get in shape.
I'm grateful to have Bob as such a close friend and feel lucky to have been able to train with him for all of these years.
I handle all of the technology related details for The Genius of Flexibility including the development of this website and the Training Archive, so please let me know if you ever have any comments or suggestions.
I'm also developing the16geniuses.com which is a Genetic Personality Typing service. We hope to launch within the next several months.
These days I spend my time offering classes, private sessions, and certifications at The Genius of Flexibility Center in Los Angeles and Santa Barbara. You might also catch me at our center in NYC or Boston. Get in touch if you'd like to know more about Resistance Flexibility happening in any of those areas.
Looking forward to stretching with you!

Of course, the error that was driving me mad last night after I set the new website into the wild was a very very simple error. Moral of the story: I don't think clearly when deliriously sleepy.
...aaaaaaand we are live! The transition from my local server to the live server was not as smooth as I had hoped for. So, I still have to fix some things. But for now, sleep is needed. Bad.
